If 2025 ends up being Travis Kelce's final season, it would come as a shock to teammate and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

"If it's the last ride, you would never know," Mahomes told reporters Wednesday, including Henry McKenna of Fox Sports. "The way he's talking about football, the way he's talking about working and trying to be even better this year than he was last year. He doesn't seem like a guy that, it's his last ride or he's tired of the job."

Mahomes added that he believes Kelce's body feels better than even last offseason.

"I think he's motivated to go out there and have an even better year," the Chiefs quarterback said.

The 35-year-old tight end was uncertain about his future following the Chiefs' blowout Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. However, he later elected to return, saying, "(I) got a real bad taste in my mouth with how I played in that last game and how I got the guys ready for battle. I can't go out like that."

Kelce is one of the most feared tight ends in NFL history, registering 1,004 catches for 12,151 yards over his career. However, his production began to slow down in 2024 as he recorded 823 receiving yards and three touchdowns, his lowest output since he became a starter in 2014.

The veteran tight end's contract expires after the 2025 season.
