The New York Mets are exploring a potential trade for Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr.

The Mets are among the teams to recently inquire about Robert, according to USA Today's Bob Nightengale.

Meanwhile, the White Sox are reportedly showing interest in pitching prospect Blade Tidwell as one piece of a larger package.

New York is currently starting Tyrone Taylor in center field with Jose Siri and Jesse Winker sidelined because of long-term injuries.

Robert has five homers, 16 RBIs, and a .619 OPS with an AL-leading 15 stolen bases over 37 games this season. He's just two years removed from a 2023 All-Star campaign in which he went deep 38 times with an .857 OPS over 145 contests.

The 27-year-old is making $15 million in 2025 and has two club options for 2026-27 that are worth $20 million per season. He comes with injury risk, however, because he's suited up for only 504 games over his six-year career.

Tidwell, 23, is the fifth-best pitching prospect in the Mets' minor-league system, according to MLB Pipeline. The right-hander owns a 4.45 ERA with 12.5 K/9 across 30 1/3 innings (seven starts) in Triple-A this season but was rocked in his MLB debut May 4, allowing six earned runs on nine hits over 3 2/3 innings against the St. Louis Cardinals.
