The Cleveland Guardians got some good news on star third baseman José Ramírez after he left Friday's game with a mild right ankle sprain.

Manager Stephen Vogt told reporters following his team's 5-3 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays that while Ramírez's ankle is quite sore, all tests so far have come back clean, according to P.J. Ziegler of Fox 8 Cleveland. The Guardians will wait and see how he feels in the morning before deciding if he'll play in Saturday's game.

Ramírez sustained the injury in the third inning while scampering down the line to beat out an infield single. After being hit in the back by Chris Bassitt's errant throw, Ramírez appeared to trip over the base and immediately went down in pain. He was tended to by Guardians trainers and was able to walk off the field under his own power.

Daniel Schneemann pinch-ran for Ramírez and remained in the game to play second base. Gabriel Arias moved from second to third.

Ramírez is hitting .274/.323/.451 with five homers, 15 RBIs, and eight steals over his first 31 games this season.
