Teoscar Hernández is enjoying his first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and he'd like to continue his career with the franchise on a more long-term basis.

"It's been great. I want to stay. I think everybody knows it," Hernández said during Friday's Apple TV broadcast against the Atlanta Braves.

"I want to be part of this team for three, four, five years, but it's not in my hands. It has to do with the Dodgers. It's in their hands."

Hernandez is having a tremendous season for the Dodgers, providing additional thump (28 home runs, .821 OPS) to a lineup that already has Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman.

The 31-year-old Home Run Derby champion has said on more than one occasion he'd like to avoid free agency again if possible and mentioned the Dodgers as a preferred landing spot.

Hernández signed a one-year, $23.5-million contract last January. He'll be one of the top position players available in free agency this offseason.
