Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown was named the recipient of the 2024 Bill Russell NBA Finals MVP after he recorded 21 points, eight rebounds, and six assists in Monday's title-clinching Game 5 win over the Dallas Mavericks.

The 27-year-old averaged 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and five assists in the best-of-seven series. He was also the primary defender against Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic.

Brown received seven of the 11 available Finals MVP votes from a media panel covering the series.

"It was a full team effort. I share this with my brothers, and my partner in crime, Jayson Tatum. He was with me the whole way, so we share this shit together," Brown said, per SportsCenter.

Tatum told reporters postgame that he's happy Brown won the award. "He earned it," Tatum said, according to Jay King of the Athletic.

Tatum is the first player ever to lead an NBA champion in playoff scoring, rebounds, and assists without also winning Finals MVP, according to HoopsHype.

Brown was also awarded the Larry Bird Trophy as the Eastern Conference finals MVP after Boston defeated the Indiana Pacers.

The Celtics have now won a league-leading 18 NBA titles.
