The Detroit Tigers signed skipper A.J. Hinch to a long-term extension, president of baseball operations Scott Harris announced Monday, according to Jason Beck of MLB.com.

"We are going to be working together for a long time," Harris said.

Terms of the new contract weren't disclosed.

Harris added that Hinch's new deal was completed shortly after the 2023 campaign ended, according to Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic. The 49-year-old manager was previously under contract through 2025.

"I love working here. I love who I work for. … I think we can win here," Hinch said, per the Detroit Free Press' Evan Petzold.

Hinch owns a 221-265 record over three seasons with Detroit. The Tigers improved by 12 wins in 2023 to finish second in the AL Central with 78 victories.
