Ex-Baylor guard LJ Cryer transferring to Houston
Former Baylor guard LJ Cryer is transferring to Houston, he told Joseph Duarte of the Houston Chronicle.
Cryer, who hails from Katy, Texas, averaged a career-high 15 points and shot a Big 12-leading 41.5% from deep last season. He drained the fifth-most triples in the conference (80) en route to earning All-Big 12 third-team honors.
"At the end of day, it's home," Cryer said. "It doesn't get any better than playing for your hometown."
Cryer spent the past three seasons in Waco. The 6-foot-1 guard was a member of the Bears' national championship squad in 2021 and has two years of eligibility remaining.
Cryer should immediately slot into Houston's starting five after Tramon Mark declared for the draft and transferred to Arkansas. The Cougars also recently added Temple guard Damian Dunn to their backcourt.
