Adam Svensson carded a 5-under 67 to lead The Players Championship by two strokes over World No. 2 Scottie Scheffler following Round 2.

The second round was suspended by weather Friday before resuming early Saturday morning.

The interruption didn't seem to bother Svensson, who picked up right where he left off. The 29-year-old Canadian went 2-under in his final six holes, including a birdie at No. 9 to end his round on a high note despite his approach finding the hospitality tent.

Scheffler came on strong Saturday morning, making a pair of birdies and no bogeys in his final eight holes.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout, who co-led with Svensson after play was halted Friday, couldn't keep the momentum going Saturday, making a pair of bogeys to fall three strokes off the leader's pace.

Place Name Total to Par Round 2 score

The moment clearly hasn't been too big for Svensson, who's making his first career appearance at The Players Championship. The World No. 57 has one prior PGA TOUR victory - the RSM Classic in 2022.
