Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is still motivated by his team's Super Bowl LV loss two years ago to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"The win is amazing. It's one of the best moments of your entire life, and you take away all the positives from that, but that loss, that stings," Mahomes told NFL Network's Michael Irvin during Super Bowl Opening Night Monday.

"That motivates you for years, and that's what it's done for me. It's motivated me to be back in this game again. And I want to make sure that I have that winning feeling and not that losing one because that losing feeling's one that you'll never forget."

Mahomes completed 26 of 49 passes for 270 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions against Tom Brady's Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV. Mahomes was sacked three times and hit another 10 in the loss.

Taking on the Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday in his third Super Bowl appearance, the NFL MVP hopeful will look to have a game similar to the one he produced in Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers. Mahomes threw for 286 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions on 26 of 42 passes and was named Super Bowl MVP in the win. He also added nine carries for 29 yards and a score.
