No. 4 Alabama and head coach Nate Oats agreed to a raise and a contract extension through the 2028-29 season.

The new deal adds two years to his original contract, while his base salary and talent fee of $4.5 million is set to rise in 2024 and will increase annually throughout the duration of the contract.

"I am honored and humbled to receive a contract extension from the University of Alabama," Oats said. "As I have said many times, my family and I love this community, the city of Tuscaloosa, and the university.

"I am incredibly proud of what we have been able to build during our time at UA, which is a direct reflection of the student-athletes, coaches, and staff who have all played a big part in our success. I am excited for what's happening in the future of our program and the direction we are heading."

The Crimson Tide own a 19-3 record and are 9-0 against SEC opponents in 2022-23. Alabama has ranked as high as second this season.

Oats has spent four seasons at the helm at Alabama, leading the Crimson Tide to an SEC Tournament championship in 2021, as well as NCAA Tournament appearances in 2021 and 2022. The 48-year-old was previously the head coach at Buffalo, helping the Bulls to three conference championships and three NCAA Tournament appearances.

Alabama takes on conference foe LSU in Baton Rouge on Saturday.
