The San Francisco Giants are hoping their partnership with All-Star outfielder Joc Pederson lasts more than one season.

Giants president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi confirmed the club and Pederson have discussed a new deal to keep the 30-year-old in the Bay Area beyond the 2022 campaign.

"We'd love to have him back next year," Zaidi told KNBR's "Tolbert and Copes" on Thursday. "We've talked some to his representative. I've talked to Joc about it himself. He's from here. He's played well. He was an All-Star for us."

Pederson signed a one-year, $6-million contract with the Giants this past offseason after helping the Atlanta Braves win the 2021 World Series.

The slugger owns a .263/.339/.513 slash line with 20 home runs, 53 RBIs, and 45 runs scored across 107 games.

Despite Pederson's strong performance, the Giants have disappointed after setting a franchise record with 107 wins last season. San Francisco enters play Friday at 61-68 and is currently mired in a seven-game losing streak.
