Keyontae Johnson is getting a second shot at basketball.

The ex-Florida star announced his commitment to Kansas State on social media Saturday.

Johnson has been cleared to play by medical personnel, a source told Stadium's Jeff Goodman.

Western Kentucky and Memphis were the other schools in the mix, adds Goodman.

Johnson hasn't played since December 2020 when he suddenly collapsed on the floor during a game against Florida State. The former Gators forward was brought to a local hospital and placed in a medically induced coma for three days. He was released from hospital 10 days after the on-court incident.

When healthy, Johnson was one of the top players in the SEC. He averaged 14 points, 7.1 boards, and 1.2 steals over 31 appearances en route to earning All-SEC first-team honors during the 2019-20 campaign.

Johnson was the conference's preseason Player of the Year ahead of his junior year. He was an honorary starter for Florida on Senior Day in March. The 23-year-old entered the transfer portal this summer hoping to resume his career.
