The Utah Jazz have placed assistant coach Keyon Dooling on paid administrative leave after the former NBA journeyman was arrested Wednesday for allegedly defrauding the league's health and welfare benefit plan, according to the Associated Press.

The alleged incident occurred from 2017-20, when Dooling was working with the National Basketball Players Association in a mental wellness advocacy role.

Dooling joins 18 other former NBA players, including Tony Allen and Glen Davis, previously linked to the scheme, in which retired players purportedly filed false insurance claims for healthcare expenses. Also added to Wednesday's rewritten indictment were a doctor and dentist who officials say helped organize the fraud.

Through false claims, Dooling allegedly pocketed about $350,000.

Dooling played in the NBA from 2000-13, most predominantly in multi-season stops with the Los Angeles Clippers, Orlando Magic, and New Jersey Nets. He joined Quin Snyder's Jazz staff prior to the 2020-21 season.
