The Atlanta Braves acquired outfielder Eddie Rosario and cash considerations from the Cleveland Indians in exchange for veteran infielder Pablo Sandoval, Atlanta announced Friday.

The Braves are covering a portion of Rosario's remaining salary, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports. He's earning $8 million this year.

Rosario is currently on the injured list with abdominal and oblique issues. He's likely a few weeks away from returning to action, according to Mark Bowman of MLB.com.

The 29-year-old hit .254/.296/.389 with seven homers, 46 RBIs, and nine stolen bases for Cleveland before getting hurt. He primarily played left field this year, but Rosario is experienced at all three outfield spots.

Sandoval, the 2012 World Series MVP, has mostly been used as a pinch hitter for Atlanta this year. He owns a .645 OPS over 86 plate appearances in 2021.
