Todd Bowles: Jets' record is 'nothing to brag about'
The New York Jets already have more wins than most people thought they'd get all season, but Todd Bowles isn't ready to celebrate.
"We're 2-2, we're .500. That's nothing to brag about," Bowles said Thursday, according to Daniel Popper of the New York Daily News. "We have to get better in a lot of areas each week."
No one could have predicted the Jets would be tied in the standings with the New England Patriots in early October, as a look at New York's roster left many to believe they planned to tank.
The Jets could rise above .500 this week if they beat the winless Cleveland Browns, though Bowles isn't overlooking his opponent.
"We're not good enough to look past anybody. Really, we're not," he said. "We just work every day to get better from the week before."
New York may not be able to keep up this pace for the entire year, but with a few more victories, Bowles could save his job.
