Report: Former All-Star Jamison joining Lakers scouting department

The Lakers are adding some more star power to their front office.

Sixteen-year NBA veteran Antawn Jamison will reportedly join general manager Rob Pelinka's scouting department in Los Angeles this season, according to The Vertical's Shams Charania.

Jamison made two All-Star appearances as a key component of the memorable mid-2000s Washington Wizards alongside Gilbert Arenas and Caron Butler. He was also named Sixth Man of the Year in 2002-03 in his lone season with the Mavericks.

In his second-last season, Jamison averaged 9.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game off the bench for the ill-fated Lakers squad featuring Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Dwight Howard, and Steve Nash. Since retiring from the NBA in 2014, Jamison has worked as an analyst on Lakers broadcasts.
