The New Orleans Saints traded defensive tackle Malcom Brown to the Jacksonville Jaguars, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

It was reported last week that New Orleans planned to release Brown, but the team ultimately found a trade partner for the former first-round pick of the New England Patriots.

The Jaguars immediately inked Brown to a two-year contract worth $11 million and containing $8 million guaranteed, Rapoport reports. The veteran was previously set to earn $5 million in the final year of his contract.

New Orleans will save $4.943 million against the cap and carry a $1.5-million dead-money hit by trading Brown, according to Over The Cap.

The 27-year-old started 29 games in two seasons with the Saints, racking up 61 total tackles and three sacks.
