Jordan rookie cards sell for record $738K
The sports card market is showing no signs of slowing down.
A pair of Michael Jordan 1986 Fleer rookie cards - both graded PSA 10 - set a new record after fetching $738,000 each in a Goldin Auctions sale Saturday, according to Darren Rovell of Action Network.
Jordan rookie cards with a Gem Mint 10 grade used to sell for between $18,000 and $30,000, but as Rovell notes, their value has increased since the release of "The Last Dance" documentary in 2020.

The Jordan rookies weren't the only cards to sell for record prices in the Goldin Auctions sale. A Patrick Mahomes rookie card was auctioned off for $861,000, making it the highest-priced Mahomes item ever sold, according to Goldin. A 1925 Lou Gehrig rookie card also sold for a record $801,960.
