The Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks are among the teams interested in acquiring Derrick Rose from the Detroit Pistons, The Athletic's Shams Charania reports.

Rose, 32, is averaging 14.8 points and 4.6 assists in 23.8 minutes per game through 12 appearances this season. He's thrived operating as a sixth man in recent years with Minnesota and now Detroit.

A return to New York - where Rose played during the 2016-17 campaign - would reunite the former league MVP with Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau. The pair were together during the most successful stretch of Rose's career from 2010-12 on the Chicago Bulls. Rose qualified for three consecutive All-Star Games under Thibodeau before tearing his ACL in the 2012 playoffs.

Meanwhile, Rose joining the Clippers would provide Los Angeles with a proven scorer capable of initiating his own offense. The Clippers lack significant guard depth behind the defensive-minded Patrick Beverley, 34-year-old Lou Williams, and Reggie Jackson.

Rose is earning $7.6 million this season in the final year of his deal with the Pistons. He's set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
