The Detroit Lions placed quarterback Matthew Stafford on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced Wednesday.

Stafford was around an infected individual who's not connected to the team on Monday and he's considered high risk, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter. He'll reportedly be eligible to face the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday if the signal-caller continues to test negative throughout the week.

"We are fine. We are all negative, my husband is negative," Stafford's wife, Kelly, said on her Instagram story. "There was just a certain exposure. So we have been testing since our exposure and we are all negative."

The 32-year-old would have to fly to Minnesota on a private plane since he'll still be in the NFL's five-day isolation window when the Lions depart Saturday, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

This is the second time Stafford has been added to the reserve group. He was placed on the COVID-19 list in August due to a false positive result.

The 32-year-old is the second Lions player to hit the reserve/COVID-19 list in as many days after linebacker Jarrad Davis.

The one-time Pro Bowler has completed 61.4% of his passes for 1,916 yards and 13 touchdowns against five interceptions through seven games this season.

The NFL's reserve/COVID-19 list is for players who either tested positive for the coronavirus or are quarantining after close contact with an infected person.
