BBWAA votes to remove Landis' name from AL, NL MVP awards
The Baseball Writers' Association of America voted to remove Kenesaw Mountain Landis' name from the American League and National League MVP awards beginning with the 2020 honors.
In late June, several former MVPs - including Mike Schmidt, Terry Pendleton, and Barry Larkin - pushed for Landis' name to be removed due to his role in upholding baseball's color barrier during his tenure as MLB's first commissioner.
The BBWAA vote was 89% in favor of removing Landis' name from the award with 313 total ballots cast, according to Maury Brown of Forbes.
The organization will decide if the name is replaced on the award in 2021.
Another clearly worthy name: Frank Robinson

Hall of Famer Frank Robinson is the only player to win MVP in both leagues.
Landis' name has been on the awards since 1944.
