NBA players voted Vince Carter the winner of the league's Sportsmanship Award for the 2019-20 season, the league announced Thursday.

The now-retired 22-year veteran, who most recently played for the Atlanta Hawks, will receive the Joe Dumars Trophy, named for the award's first recipient.

Carter received 143 of 266 first-place votes, beating out Brooklyn Nets' Garrett Temple and Oklahoma City Thunder's Steven Adams for the honor.

Carter averaged 16.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists across 1,541 games, spending time with eight franchises.
