Longtime NBA guard Leandro Barbosa has officially retired and will join the Golden State Warriors as a "player mentor" coach, the team announced Monday.

The Phoenix Suns drafted Barbosa 28th overall in 2003, where he emerged as one of the NBA's top reserve players. The 37-year-old averaged a career-high 18.1 points in 2006-07 en route to Sixth Man of the Year honors.

The Brazilian Blur was a member of the Warriors' championship squad in 2015 and helped the club win a league-record 73 games a year later.

Barbosa also spent time with the Toronto Raptors, Indiana Pacers, and Boston Celtics throughout his 14-year NBA career. He has played the last three seasons in his native country of Brazil.
