Former WWE Superstar Marty Jannetty is walking back an apparent murder confession he made last month, now claiming it was part of a wrestling angle.

The 60-year-old took to Facebook on Tuesday to proclaim his innocence.

"I DID NOT MURDER THAT MAN!!! It was just the beginning of a damn wrestling storyline..but OH MY GOD, OMG.. Didn't the WORLD buy it??!! I never knew it could be that easy," he wrote.

He added he "knew (he) had to drop it" when the police got involved.

Jannetty, best known for being a member of The Rockers tag team alongside Shawn Michaels, suggested in another Facebook post on Aug. 5 that he killed a man in self-defense when he was 13 years old, prompting the Columbus Police Department in Georgia to open an investigation.

An official from the Columbus Police Department told TMZ Sports the case is "still open for investigation," despite Jannetty's new explanation.
