NBA players and staff will be given the option to wear Oura Rings - wearable health data trackers - after getting to the league's bubble at Disney World in Florida, according to a memo that ESPN's Tim Bontemps obtained.

The data will reportedly be shared with the NBA and National Basketball Players Association, and teams will only be notified if the person wearing a ring is at a higher risk for, or showing signs of, the coronavirus.

The issue of wearable technology has been a sticking point between the league and the union for several years due to privacy concerns. The NBA's last CBA, signed in 2017, expressly indicates players should only use wearable technology on a voluntary basis.
