It was a night to remember for Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

The rising star posted 20 points, 20 boards, and 10 assists in the Thunder's 117-104 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday to become the youngest player in NBA history to record a 20-rebound triple-double, according to Elias Sports Bureau.

At 21 years and 185 days, Gilgeous-Alexander bested Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal by 74 days.

"Coach had challenged me before the game to fill up the stat sheet more and do more things,'' Gilgeous-Alexander said of Thunder head coach Billy Donovan, according to ESPN. "Because he thought, as well as myself thought, that I was more capable of what I was doing.''

Gilgeous-Alexander joined Russell Westbrook as the only guards with a 20-point, 20-rebound triple-double over the last 30 seasons. The Canadian also became only the fourth second-year player in league history to register a 20-20 triple-double.

Entering Monday's contest, Gilgeous-Alexander had no triple-doubles in 121 previous appearances. His 20 rebounds versus the Timberwolves were a career high while his 10 assists matched a personal best set during his rookie campaign.

Oklahoma City acquired the Hamilton, Ontario, native from the Los Angeles Clippers this past offseason in the Paul George blockbuster deal.

Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 19.9 points, 5.7 boards, 2.9 assists, and 1.2 steals across 40 appearances this season.
