Real Madrid defender Jesus Vallejo is off to England after joining Wolverhampton on a season-long loan deal, the Premier League side announced Saturday.

The 22-year-old has failed to break into the first team since his arrival from Real Zaragoza in 2015 for €6 million.

Wolverhampton's first signing of the summer appeared in seven matches at Real Madrid last season.

He previously spent two loan spells away from the club when he was returned to Zaragoza, where he began his career, before a move to Eintracht Frankfurt for the 2016-17 campaign.

Vallejo captained the Spain Under-21 side that won the European Championship this summer.
