Eintracht director denies reported Jovic deal with Real Madrid

Rumors that Eintracht Frankfurt have agreed to sell Luka Jovic to Real Madrid are unfounded, according to the German club's sporting director Fredi Bobic.

Bobic insists Eintracht haven't even heard from Madrid regarding Jovic, despite Spanish outlet AS reporting earlier this week that the two clubs have settled on a €60-million transfer fee for the promising Serbian forward.

"There has been no contact with Real Madrid," Bobic told Raphael Honigstein of ESPN FC. "For once, I don't have to use a white lie; they really haven't been in touch yet. I know them very well."

There's been plenty of speculation about Jovic's future, as the 21-year-old has reportedly caught Real Madrid's attention after scoring 26 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions this season. He became the youngest player to score five goals in a Bundesliga match in a 7-1 win over Fortuna Dusseldorf in October and his 17 goals are second to Robert Lewandowski's 21 for the Bundesliga scoring lead.

If Eintracht do elect to sell Jovic, the German club can expect to make a massive profit on the €7-million fee they paid Benfica in April to make his two-year loan permanent.

Such a transfer would see Benfica receive 20 percent of any transfer fee as a result of their agreement with Eintracht.

Jovic is the latest in a long line of players linked with Real Madrid in recent months, as manager Zinedine Zidane appears to be gearing up for a busy summer. Los Blancos have already been rumored to have interest in players such as Eden Hazard, Paul Pogba, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe, among others.
