Victoire add Scamurra on 2-year contract
The Montreal Victoire signed forward Hayley Scamurra to a two-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.
Scamurra tallied one goal and three points in 25 games last season with the Toronto Sceptres. She ranked 21st in shots on goal with 56, and her 1.8% shooting percentage was last among players with at least one goal.
The Buffalo native still made Team USA at the World Championship despite struggling offensively and notched two goals and three points in seven games en route to winning gold. She's represented her nation at five straight Worlds and at the 2022 Olympics.
"Hayley is a power forward who works hard in all three zones," Victoire general manager Daniele Sauvageau said. "She's proven herself not only in our league but also on the international stage. Her compete level and ability to impact the game with her physicality and sound play on both sides of the puck make her a valuable addition to our group."
Scamurra and defender Savannah Harmon were traded from the Ottawa Charge to Toronto midseason for defender Jocelyne Larocque and forward Victoria Bach.
Scamurra was drafted 29th in the inaugural PWHL draft by Ottawa and notched five goals and 10 points in 24 games in 2024.
"I'm so excited to be joining the Victoire," Scamurra said. "They have a talented group of players and seasoned coaching staff that I'm eager to learn from. I'm excited to feel the passionate energy of the Victoire fans cheering for me and our team this season."
The Victoire signed forward Shiann Darkangelo earlier Tuesday and re-upped defender Kati Tabin on Monday.
