U.S. Open Round 3: Martin Kaymer maintains lead despite disappointing round
Martin Kaymer maintained his lead at the U.S. Open, despite a disappointing third round on Saturday. Regardless of his poor outing, Kaymer still managed to finish the round at 8-under.

Kaymer recorded one birdie during his third round, managing an eagle and an astonishing five bogeys, but still held a five-stroke lead over Rickie Fowler and Erik Compton.
The 27-year-old struggled throughout the majority of the round, especially with his close-game, which resulted in Kaymer finishing 2-over par.
Kaymer wasn't the only one who struggled on Saturday, as the majority of players endured a difficult third round. Americans Rickie Fowler and Erik Compton were the only two players to finish under par.
Fowler managed to fire a 67, despite enduring a horrendous first two rounds. The 25-year-old recorded five birdies, in comparison to only two bogeys.
Compton (-3), Henrik Stenson (-2), Brandt Snedeker (-1), Matt Kuchar (E), Brooks Koepka (E), Kevin Na (E), and Justin Rose (+1) round out the top-10, with Jordan Spieth, Chris Kirk, and Brendon De Jonge tied for tenth.
