Emotional Woodland wins Houston Open for 1st victory since 2019
Gary Woodland won the Houston Open in inspiring fashion Sunday.
Woodland, who recently shared his struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder after undergoing brain surgery in 2023, was visibly emotional after sinking the winning putt.

"Anybody that's struggling with something, I hope they see me and don't give up," he said while fighting back tears. "Just keep fighting."

He won the tournament in a decisive manner, beating Nicolai Hojgaard by five strokes.
The victory is Woodland's first on the PGA TOUR since his lone major title at the 2019 U.S. Open.
The win also earned Woodland a spot in the 2026 Masters.
