Will Zalatoris withdrew from the Masters due to injury on Thursday just before his scheduled opening-round tee time at 1:24 p.m. ET.
The 26-year-old has experienced great success in his brief career at Augusta National, with a second-place showing in 2021 and a tie for sixth last year.
While there was no specific injury given for Zalatoris' withdrawal, the American underwent back surgery on two herniated discs at the end of last season. He has played seven events since returning to action but also withdrew before the final day of group play in the WGC-Match Play two weeks ago.
