This week, players will be competing for 500 FedEx Cup points and a share of the $8.7-million purse. For the second year in a row, the tournament will also run from Wednesday to Saturday.

List entered the round five strokes back of leaders Zalatoris and Jason Day while in a tie for 19th. His 66 was the second-lowest round of the day next to Lanto Griffin's 7-under.

Rahm, Cameron Tringale, and Day finished one stroke out of making the playoff in a tie for third at 14-under. Five players, including Sungjae Im, Joaquin Niemann, and Justin Rose, finished two strokes back in a tie for sixth.

The course

Like last week, the TOUR will be using multiple courses for the duration of the Farmers Insurance Open: Torrey Pines' South and North courses.

The South course is a 7,765-yard par 72, while the North is a shorter 7,258-yard par 72. Players will have a chance to play on both courses for the first two rounds, but the final 36 holes will be at the South venue.

Tiger Woods (1999) and George Burns (1987) share the 72-hole tournament record with a 266.

Torrey Pines is also the site of both Rahm's 2021 U.S. Open victory and his maiden TOUR win back in 2017.
