Report: Mito Pereira set to join LIV Golf
Mito Pereira is the latest TOUR player set to join Greg Norman's LIV Golf, according to The Telegraph's James Corrigan on Wednesday.
The Chilean is expected to be announced as the latest LIV signing sometime next week. His announcement will be part of a larger unveiling of the Saudi-backed league's 2023 roster, according to Corrigan's report.
Pereira, 27, is currently ranked No. 44 in the world. In his rookie season last year on TOUR, he was a member of the International Presidents Cup team and infamously held the PGA Championship lead before making a double-bogey on the 72nd hole to lose the tournament and miss the playoff.
He'd be joining the growing list of names like Cameron Smith, Dustin Johnson, and Brooks Koepka, who all previously left the TOUR to join LIV during the series' inaugural season last year.
The 2023 LIV season is set to begin in late February at El Camaleon Golf Course in Mexico. This season will have 14 events, up from last year's eight. In addition to the Mexico tournament, six of those 14 events have already been announced.
