DeChambeau: I signed with LIV Golf for 4 1/2 years
Bryson DeChambeau will be with LIV for the long haul.
The 28-year-old told the "Country Club Adjacent" podcast that he signed on to play in the Saudi-backed series for over four years.
"I'm not gonna say the details. I mean, for what's reported, it's somewhat close," DeChambeau said. "It's a four-and-a-half-year deal, I can definitely tell you that, and a lot of it was up front, which is great."
DeChambeau later suggested estimates of a $125-million signing fee were "a little low."
After initially being rumored to join LIV Golf, DeChambeau announced in February that he planned to stay on the PGA TOUR. However, in June, it was confirmed the eight-time TOUR winner had signed for Greg Norman's tour.
DeChambeau played in his first LIV event last week in Oregon at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club, finishing 10th at 2-under, nine shots back of winner Branden Grace. He was a part of the Crushers GC team that finished ninth out of 12 teams.
Dustin Johnson, who was one of the first TOUR players to leave for LIV and played in the inaugural event in England, reportedly also committed for four years.
