Jordan Spieth has 13 victories on the PGA TOUR, including three major wins, but there's still something he wants to accomplish.

The career Grand Slam.

"It's a goal of mine," Spieth told CBS Sports' Kyle Porter on Wednesday, ahead of the PGA Championship. "If you just told me I was going to win one tournament the rest of my life, I'd say I want to win this one, given where things are at."

After joining the TOUR in 2013, Spieth was quick to achieve success, winning both the Masters and the U.S. Open in 2015. He followed those up by claiming the Open Championship in 2017.

But then Spieth's career took a turn. Following a three-win 2016-17 season, the Texan found himself in a winless drought.

He failed to advance to the TOUR Championship for the first time in his career in 2018 and fell short again in 2019. In 2020, Spieth ended the season ranked No. 107 on the FedEx Cup standings and failed to reach the BMW Championship for the first time.

Spieth showed glimpses of his early-career form in the 2021 season, however, ending his drought with a win at the Valero Texas Open and advancing to the TOUR Championship.

This season, Spieth picked up where he left off. He grabbed his 13th TOUR victory at the RBC Heritage in mid-April and followed it up with a second-place finish at the Byron Nelson last week. He also finished second at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February.

Spieth said he feels good heading into this week but acknowledged the "elephant in the room."

"Long term, it would be really cool to say that you captured the four biggest golf tournaments in the world that are played in different parts of the world and different styles, too," Spieth said. "So you feel like you kind of accomplished golf when you win a career Grand Slam, I guess."

Spieth will have his chance starting Thursday when he tees off alongside Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy at 9:11 a.m. ET at Southern Hills.
