Jordan Spieth is alone at the top.

The former world No. 1 posted a second-round 67 at Spyglass Hill to lead the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am by one shot over Daniel Berger going into the weekend.

"I'm in a great position after the midway point," Spieth said on Friday, according to ASAP Sports.

It's a spot Spieth has rarely put himself in since his last victory at the 2017 Open Championship. But after co-leading going into the final round last week in Phoenix, Spieth will get another crack at finding the winner's circle and collecting his 12th PGA Tour title.

"(I) feel a little bit improved off of last week, which was the goal this week, to just try and feel like I'm getting better each day," Spieth said.

The three-time major winner has earned victories in six of the previous eight events he's led or co-led after 36 holes. However, this is his first 36-hole lead since the 2017 Northern Trust.

Berger, who missed the cut last week at TPC Scottsdale, fired 6-under at Pebble Beach in blustery conditions to tie for the lowest score of Day 2.

Meanwhile, after matching the course record at Pebble Beach with a 62 on Thursday, Patrick Cantlay shot 1-over at Spyglass Hill to fall into a tie for fourth, three behind Spieth.

Here's the top of the leaderboard heading into Saturday:

Place Player To Par R2 Score
1 Jordan Spieth (SH) -12 67
2 Daniel Berger (PB) -11 66
3 Henrik Norlander (SH) -10 70
T4 Patrick Cantlay (SH) -9 73
T4 Tom Lewis (SH) -9 69
T4 Paul Casey (PB) -9 67
7 Russell Knox (SH) -8 70

Akshay Bhatia, 19, followed up his flawless 64 from Round 1 with a 73 on Friday. He shares eighth with five others.

Phil Mickelson, a five-time winner at Pebble Beach, failed to break 80 for only the 10th time in his career, missing the cut by 11 shots.

Round 3 from Pebble Beach begins at 11:14 a.m. ET on Saturday. Golf Channel's coverage starts at 1 p.m.
