Tiger Woods will be in the field for back-to-back events, as he's committed to next week's BMW Championship, the PGA Tour announced.

Woods is in action beginning Thursday at The Northern Trust, the first leg of the 2020 FedEx Cup Playoffs. Tiger has won the FedEx Cup twice in his career, cashing in after the 2007 and 2009 seasons.

This year's BMW Championship location is Olympia Fields Country Club in Illinois. In 2019, Tiger's season ended at the same event held at Medinah.

Despite only playing in five tournaments in this shortened season, Tiger sits 49th in the FedEx Cup standings. All players in the top-30 on the points list following the BMW Championship are eligible to compete in the Tour Championship in September.

Since the PGA Tour returned from its pause, Tiger has finished T-40 at the Memorial and T-37 at the PGA Championship.

Woods' next victory will be the 83rd of his career, making him the winningest player in the history of the sport.
