Cameron Tringale was disqualified from the PGA Championship on Friday after signing an incorrect scorecard, the tournament announced.

Tringale submitted his second-round score with a lower number for the eighth hole than what he actually made. After realizing his mistake, he returned to the scoring tent to notify officials of the error and was disqualified.

Had Tringale signed for a higher total than what he actually shot, he would have been given that total and remained in the tournament.

He recorded a 68 in Round 2 and sat at 1-over for the tournament, which would have likely been enough to make the cut.

Tringale was also disqualified from the 2014 PGA Championship for an incorrect score that he self-reported four days after the tournament ended.
