Na outlasts Cantlay in playoff to win Shriners Hospitals Open

Kevin Na took down Patrick Cantlay on the second playoff hole to win the Shriners Hospital Open on Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas.

It's the fourth win of Na's PGA Tour career, and his third since July 2018. His first win on Tour came at the Shriners in 2011.

Na opened up a two-stroke lead over Cantlay heading into the final round after putting together scorching outings of 62 and 61 on Friday and Saturday. He finished the tournament at 23-under, but his final round was a roller coaster.

The 36-year-old Korean shot a solid 33 on the front nine, but a triple-bogey on No. 10 gave Cantlay an opening. Afterward, Na found the water on No. 16, resulting in a bogey and Cantlay momentarily taking over the lead.

Cantlay then found the water himself en route to a bogey on No. 17.

The pair were deadlocked after 18 holes, and each player birdied the first playoff hole. On the second go-around, Cantlay missed two putts and Na dropped in his attempt for par to claim the title.

Pat Perez (21-under) finished third, with Bryson DeChambeau, Brad Stuard, and Adam Hadwin (each 20-under) rounding out the top five.

Next week the PGA Tour shifts to Texas for the Houston Open.
