PGA picks: Molinari to thrive in weak field at Quicken Loans National
With a comeback victory at the Travelers Championship, Bubba Watson emerged as the first three-time winner on the PGA Tour this season.
More importantly, he hit as the winner in our PGA picks for the second time, cashing in at 28-1 for last week's title. That brings us our sixth winner of the year, with four coming at prices of 25-1 or higher.
Hopefully, the winning vibes continue this week at the Quicken Loans National - one of the weakest fields on the PGA Tour this season. Notable names teeing it up are Tiger Woods and Quicken Loans sponsored Rickie Fowler.
Other than Fowler, the only top-30 players in the field are Francesco Molinari, Marc Leishman, and Kiradech Aphibarnat.
Here's who to target this week.
Favorite to watch (odds shorter than 25-1)
Francesco Molinari
The Italian is skipping the French Open to come play the Quicken Loans National, giving a strong indication he likes the setup at TPC Potomac. The ball-striking wizard comes to the Washington D.C. area in strong form, as he's posted a win, a second-place, and a 25th-place finish in his last three starts. With a void of top players in the field, Molinari represents the best value among the favorites.
Odds to win: 22-1
Top-5 odds: 4-1
Second tier (odds 25-1 or longer)
Jimmy Walker

Ranked 55th in the world, Walker is one of the top players in the field at TPC Potomac. While the former Baylor star finished 56th in the U.S. Open, he's shown some excellent form as of late with three top-six showings over his last five individual stroke-play events. Walker did miss the cut here last season, but his class will show this year and have him in contention come the weekend.
Odds to win: 30-1
Top-5 odds: 5-1
Long shot (odds 50-1 or longer)
Kevin Streelman
Any course that is on the shorter side and relies on accuracy off the tee will be in Streelman's wheelhouse. That proved true last year when the former Duke standout posted a 17th-place finish in the event. The 39-year-old ranks inside the top 30 this season in both strokes gained: off the tee and strokes gained: approach, and a decent week on the greens should have him near the top of the leaderboard on Sunday afternoon. On a betting sheet that doesn't represent much value, Streelman at 50-1 jumps out.
Odds to win: 50-1
Top-5 odds: 8-1
Super long shot (odds 80-1 or longer)
Johnson Wagner

Wagner will certainly be confident at TPC Potomac after finishing fifth in the event last season. The 38-year-old has been solid as of late with two top-20 finishes over his last four individual stroke-play events, including a 13th at Wells Fargo. Accuracy off the tee is a major focus this week and Wagner thrives in that area, hitting almost 65 percent of fairways. Add to the fact he's one of the best putters on Tour and it's easy to see why this could be a great week for Wagner.
Odds to win: 100-1
Top-5 odds: 25-1
Hit this bet, buy a car (odds 125-1 or longer)
Ryan Armour
As previously mentioned, driving accuracy is critical at TPC Potomac, and there are few players better in the world in that area than Armour. The 42-year-old has hit an astonishing 74 percent of fairways this season, second to only Henrik Stenson on Tour. That number is more impressive when you consider Armour has attempted to find over 600 more fairways than Stenson.
Odds to win: 125-1
Top-5 odds: 20-1
