Tiger closes PGA Championship with awe-inspiring 64 in final round

What a remarkable ride that was.

Tiger Woods fired a 6-under 64 to finish alone in second at the PGA Championship Sunday, a display of golf that once again captivated the entire sports world.

Starting the day four shots behind leader Brooks Koepka, Woods needed to come out firing to have any chance of winning his 15th career major - and he did exactly that.

With two birdies over his first three holes, and seemingly the entire leaderboard moving backward, Tiger was in contention early. He gave a shot back on the par-3 sixth but was able to recover and close his front nine with back-to-back birdies.

Woods hit zero fairways on the front nine but was able to repeatedly pull off miraculous recovery shots, the same ones that made him so great in his glory days.

Sticking approach shots tight all afternoon, Tiger again made back-to-back birdies on No. 12 and 13 to get within one shot of the lead. He also got robbed on No. 11 after leaving a birdie putt hanging on the edge of the cup.

After another errant drive on the 14th, the four-time PGA Championship winner suffered a costly bogey.

However, that didn't stop Woods from continuing to hit jaw-dropping shots to send the crowd into a frenzy. With 164 yards left on No. 15, Tiger stuck his approach shot to within a foot for another tap-in birdie.

In peak Tiger fashion, the crowd erupted after he drained a 19-foot birdie putt on his final hole to end the tournament at 14-under par.

Despite not walking away with his first PGA Tour win since 2013, the 100th PGA Championship will always be remembered for Tiger's incredible performance.
