Tiger surges up leaderboard with 66 in Round 3 at PGA Championship
Tiger Woods made the most of his moving day, firing a 4-under 66 in Round 3 at the PGA Championship Saturday.
It was a tale of two nines for Woods, and multiple shirts, as he came flying out of the gates before slowing down considerably on the back nine.
The four-time PGA Championship winner made two birdies to open his round, then walked in three straight to erase a lone bogey on the front nine. Fist pumps were flying as he made the turn at 4-under for the day.
That's when he ran out of steam.
Woods, who had to play 11 holes Saturday morning to finish his rain-delayed second round, made nine consecutive pars on the back nine. His largest blemish on the back was a three-putt par on the par-5 17th.
Tiger finished his round at 8-under for the event in a tie for fourth, four shots behind the leader Brooks Koepka.
