Rory McIlroy is downplaying a heart problem he revealed in a recent interview with James Corrigan of the Telegraph.
McIlroy said the heart issue is linked to a viral infection he acquired 18 months ago while in China, which will require an electrocardiogram every six months and an MRI once a year.
The Northern Irishman took to Instagram Saturday morning insisting the ailment isn't a major concern:
The former world No. 1 will return to competitive golf after a four-month layoff next week at the Abu Dhabi Championship.
