Ogilvy's back 9 at Wyndham keeps FedEx Cup hopes alive
After playing the first 27 holes of the Wyndham Championship in even par, Geoff Ogilvy's 2017 PGA Tour season was on life support with just nine holes left on Friday.
Ogilvy made matters worse with a bogey on the par-4 second - his 11th of the day - but the Aussie played some gutsy golf over the final seven holes of the round.
The 2006 U.S. Open champion birdies Nos. 3 and 4, then received a great break at the par-5 fifth hole. Ogilvy's tee shot appeared to be pulled well left of the fairway into the trees, but his ball smacked the cart path three times, leaving just a short iron into the par 5.
The 40-year-old would go card a two-putt birdie at No. 5, then record a fourth straight budgie at the par-4 sixth, dropping a 20-foot putt.

After a routine par at No. 7, Ogilvy shaved one more stroke at the par-4 eighth, and would par the last for a back-nine 31 and round of 66.
