Pieters won't play in next week's Players Championship

Only two of the top 50 in the world golf rankings won't be making the trip to TPC Sawgrass next week for The Players Championship: Brandt Snedeker and Thomas Pieters.
Snedeker is out because of an injured hand, while Pieters provided no reason for his absence, according to Rex Hoggard of the Golf Channel.
The Players Championship is considered the "fifth major," and boasts the strongest field in all of golf.
The world No. 25 player isn't on the entry list in next week's European Tour event in Portugal.
