Ryan Johansen had a lot to cheer about.

With the star forward in the press box as a healthy scratch, the Columbus Blue Jackets scored a season-high seven goals Thursday in a 7-5 win over the Arizona Coyotes, ending a five-game losing skid.

Brandon Saad had himself a night, recording his first three-point effort with Columbus, scoring his 11th of the season only 58 seconds into the game, and adding two assists.

Cam Atkinson and Alex Wennberg had a goal and two assists, while Scott Hartnell added a couple of helpers, as seven different Blue Jackets scored.

Tobias Rieder, Antoine Vermette, and Jordan Martinook had multi-point efforts for the Coyotes. Arizona's goaltending left a lot to be desired. Anders Lindback was pulled after allowing four goals on 10 shots, and Louis Domingue stopped eight of 10 shots.

Seven was the number of the night for Columbus: They scored seven goals, and had seven shots in each of the three periods. Arizona's goaltenders need to stop more than 66 percent of the shots they're facing.

There was a scary moment near the end of the game, when Coyotes forward Max Domi barreled into Blue Jackets goalie Curtis McElhinney, whose head appeared to hit the ice after he lost his goalie mask.

McElhinney stayed in the game and finished what he started, though. He stopped 27 of 32 shots.
