After Braden Holtby stopped 26 of 27 shots through two periods, the Montreal Canadiens needed an answer for the Washington Capitals goalie, who entered Thursday with a 5-0-1 record in six career starts at the Bell Center.

Down 2-1 on an early third period penalty kill, Brian Flynn emerged as the unlikely hero with a great deke to fool Holtby on a breakaway.

It was the 20th goal of Flynn's four-year NHL career, but surprisingly, his third shorthanded marker.
