Rangers grant wish, sign 7-year-old Kayleigh Petersen
The New York Rangers have made an important free-agent splash.
The club has announced the signing of Kayleigh Petersen - a speedy, highly skilled 7-year-old from the Make-A-Wish Foundation - to a one-day contract in time for Thursday's game versus the Colorado Avalanche.

"She has tremendous skills," Adam Graves of Hockey Operations said ahead of Garden of Dream Night at Madison Square Garden. "And we felt her strength and character are through the roof."
