The Chicago Blackhawks appear close to getting a huge boost to their lineup.

Duncan Keith has been cleared for contact, and could return as early as Saturday against the St. Louis Blues, or the Calgary Flames on Sunday.

Keith has missed the last nine games following knee surgery.

The 32-year-old has two assists in six games this season. The Blackhawks are 8-6-1 on the year, and 5-3-1 without the defending Conn Smythe Trophy winner in the lineup.
